very interesting: This here blog has not had one case of comment-spam. And I have a very open comment system nowadays. But I have a MoveableTYpe blog which I installed for testing, that has exactly one posting dated somewhere around May. That posting has attracted three cases of spam in four days before I disabled comments.
SO I guess it's also a case of well known interfaces... blog-tool diversity helps hinder spam? Maybe using non-standard field names in comment forms might also be helpful
